WHO WE ARE:
We like to think of ourselves as not your typical auto repair center. When something goes wrong with your vehicle it can be a scary thing – after all you may not know what’s actually wrong, or even scarier, what it might end up costing you. We believe in treating our customers with courtesy, friendliness, and most importantly, honesty. We’ll tell you exactly what’s happening with your vehicle, even when there’s nothing wrong and no cost involved, and we’ll never upsell you on something you don’t need.
WE believe trust is something that should be earned, which is why we’re always…
“WORKING TO EARN YOUR TRUST, EACH AND EVERY DAY”
From Routine Maintenance to Complex Auto Repair
Maintenance:
The best way to help prevent major repairs and the oftentimes high costs that come with them is by performing the regular maintenance that’s necessary to keep your car running at its best. This also helps extend the life of your vehicle while helping to avoid breakdowns and keeping your vehicle safe. Our maintenance services include:
Oil Changes
Filter Replacements
Fluids Inspection and Replacement
Belts, hoses, wiper blades, bulbs
All Factory Recommended Services
Full Inspections
Transmission:
Due to the complexity of transmissions, having to repair or replace once can be one of the most expensive repairs you may ever have to make on your vehicle. The best way to avoid this is by following the manufacturer’s recommended schedule for servicing the fluid inside the transmission. However, even with proper maintenance sometimes things can still go wrong. If you’re experiencing symptoms such as delays in shifting or not shifting into gear at all, gears slipping, surging, strange sounds, burning smells, or hearing gears grinding can all be indications of transmission issues.
Most manufacturers recommend transmission fluid to be serviced at a specific service interval according to their specific recommendations found in your owners’ manual. Some of the transmission related services we can provide include:
Check external transmission for leaks
Replace transmission filter (where applicable)
Replace transmission pan gasket (where applicable)
Flush and re-fill transmission fluid to manufacturers’ requirements
Check fluid levels
Complete replacement when necessary
**It is important to know that if your vehicle is used for towing, the transmission fluid should be serviced more frequently.
Engine:
Needless to say, the engine is basically the most important component of your vehicle. If it’s not working properly, at best it’s inefficient and likely headed toward bigger issues, at worst it’s not working at all and you’re not going anywhere.
Let’s talk about the dreaded and often misunderstood Check Engine Light. First off, if it does come on there’s no need to panic, it’s simply there to tell you when your car senses something is wrong. That something could be as minor as a loose gas cap, or it may be trying to warn you about something potentially more serious. Either way it’s important to get it checked quickly so you know what issue triggered the light, as well as to possibly head off a much more serious problem. Our technicians will read the codes in your car’s computer and let you know what it’s trying to tell you.
Whatever may be ailing your car’s engine, we can fix it. From the most basic things such as spark plugs all the way up to the most complex procedures, even rebuilding your entire engine, our skilled and experienced team can handle it. We can do all of this and more:
Ignition Systems – all plugs, wires, and cables
Batteries and Charging Components
Fuel Injectors
Electrical Systems
Radiators & Engine Cooling
Timing Chains/Belts
Air Intake and Exhaust Systems
Head Gaskets
Valves and Valve Cover Gaskets
There’s no job too big or too small that we can’t handle!
Brakes:
When it comes to keeping yourself and others safe on the road, there is not a more critical part of your car than the brakes. Just an inch or two can sometimes make the difference between stopping in time or being involved in an accident, so keeping your brakes in good working condition is of the utmost importance.
Here are some warning signs that may indicate your brakes are in need of service:
The brake pedal is stiff, or harder to push than normal
The brake pedal is soft, or much easier to push than normal
You hear a squealing, screeching or grinding when braking
You feel a vibration in your steering wheel when braking
The red brake warning light on your dashboard is on
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms we can provide you with a full inspection and let you know what, if anything, is wrong and just what your options are. If there is an actual issue here are just some of the services we’re able to perform:
Brake pad replacement
Brake caliper repair or replacement
Brake Rotor replacement
Anti-lock braking system maintenance and repair
Brake line replacement
Brake fluid flush
Parking Brake adjustment
Brake drum and shoe repair or replacement
Wheels and Tires:
Along with the brakes, your vehicle’s tires play the largest role in ensuring your safety. They are the only part of your car that is actually connected to the road, and the brakes and anti-lock braking system are only able to do their job effectively if you have a good grip on the pavement. The tires are also tasked with applying the forces of driving such as acceleration and steering to the road, while also acting as an integral part of the overall suspension system. So clearly tires are pretty important!
In order to help prolong the life of your tires as well keep them performing at their best we offer the following services:
Tire Inspection
Wheel Balancing
Tire Repairs
Tire Rotations
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Repair & Service
Wheel Alignments
We sell almost all makes of new tires at the same or better prices than our competitors
While the quality and durability of tires has continually progressed and improved over the years, eventually all tires still wear out and will need to be replaced at some point. At Hometown Car Care we sell and service all major brands of tires, at prices that will meet or beat the competition. We’ll be happy to inspect your current tires, and if they need replacement we can provide you with options across different brands, price points and types, including all-season tires, snow tires and sport tires.
