The History of Capital Insurance Agency of Wisconsin
Capital Insurance Agency was established in 1977 as an independent insurance agency by Josef Schmidt. For years the agency was run out of his home and he treated his clients as family. As an independent agency, the agency has represented leading insurance companies in the industry.
In 1988, Jeff Sladky joined Josef in his agency. A few years later the agency had grown to a point where the agency needed to be moved out of his house and into an office on Capitol Dr in Brookfield, WI. Even though the agency was not located in a home, the value of treating our policy holders as family has always been the way we do business. Jeff became principal owner of Capital Insurance Agency of WI in 1994.
The agency continued to grow and has added additional leading insurance companies. This has allowed us to tailor an insurance program to meet our insured’s specific requirements. Their needs may include personal coverage or a comprehensive business portfolio.

Jeff Sladky - Owner / President
Jeff started with Capital Insurance in 1988. Prior to coming to Capital Insurance Jeff graduated from Catholic Memorial High School and continued on to graduate from Marquette University. After graduating from Marquette, he worked at The Equitable Life Insurance Co. for 2 years. Jeff is President and sole owner of Capital Insurance Agency. He sells primarily Commercial Insurance and Employee Benefits.
When Jeff is not working he enjoys spending time with his 3 sons participating in or watching any and all athletic sports.
Mary - Personal Lines Agent
Mary has been with Capital Insurance Agency since 1995. Mary's career spans over 30 years in customer service. This knowledge has given her the ability to get to know her customers and truly service their individual needs all over Southeastern, WI. Mary has a friendly personality and can assist you with any of your needs related to your home, auto and other personal insurance.
When Mary is not working, she enjoys time with friends and family, especially her first grandchild. She likes to cook and bake, assists her friends and family with home decorating, and loves to explore new walking trails.
Joe Sladky - Personal / Commercial Agent
Joe started with Capital Insurance Agency in February of 2015. Prior to coming to Capital Insurance, he graduated from Marquette University High School and continued his education at UW-Eau Claire. After graduating, he then worked at Badger Mutual Insurance for two years. Joe is able to assist with any needs related to home, auto, other personal insurance, and business insurance.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with family and his mini golden doodle, Lleyton. His hobbies are golfing, playing tennis, and skiing. In addition, Joe has enjoyed coaching Marquette High Varsity Tennis since 2014.
