Our fire department has over 120 years of protecting life and property guided by our strong tradition and sense of pride that continues to drive our staff members towards excellence in honing the craft of firefighting and rescue services.
Our Fire Department serves nearly 90,000 city residents within a 50-square mile area, providing critical fire suppression, advanced life support, and marine emergency response services. In addition, FMFD is the Region 6 lead response team for hazardous materials incidents within Lee County and neighboring counties.
I'm proud to know the City of Fort Myers Fire Department exceeds the expectations of residents, city stewards, business owners, and visitors. Our firefighting staff stands every day on the tenets of "Humility, Humanity and Heroism" unified around the values of respect, commitment, compassion, and integrity.
