Harold McMahon was introduced to the Plumbing Trade by his Father-in-law, John Rooney in the late 1930’s. After serving in World War 2 Harold returned to Boston, and again to work in the plumbing trade with John. A decade later, with considerably more experience and competence, Harold struck out on his own and founded McMahon Plumbing & Heating in 1952.
At the time, Harold’s business centered around the new construction taking place in and around Hyde Park as Builders were providing housing for returning veterans from the War. Since the beginning Harold instilled a pride of craftsmanship and prioritized personal integrity in all his interactions. He demanded the same of all his employees including his son Michael whom entered the business in 1966.
Harold moved the business to its current location in 1964. We have remained in the same location since. Although the focus of the company has changed to Residential Plumbing Service work, the firm remains a family endeavor, under the leadership of Michael F. McMahon. Seven decades later, the 4th Generation of McMahon’s, with Julie McMahon and Michael McMahon Jr.’s involvement, are still serving discerning home owners in the Greater Boston Area. Our company has continued to enjoy sustained growth and success, in large part, thanks to referrals, our outstanding technicians, and the pride and integrity that we take in our work and every interaction.
